  Premium beach and waiter service was amazing, the pool and poolside bar was GORGEOUS, and the hotel was recently renovated so everything was top-notch. A great selection at the buffet, and drinks were good and strong.

  Didn't always replace our premium towels or clean our rooms during the times stated - we often had to call down for both (but they were very quick!)

  Me and my family absolutely loved this place.The staff was super friendly, anything we asked for we would get, The food was great, I gained like 5 pounds on this trip. The rooms we had where very clean, I really couldn't ask for a better place to stay. I was dreading having to leave but I will be back. My daughters had the best time, very kid friendly. I would recommend this resort to anybody To anybody that wants to have a good relaxing time.

  We booked a Suite with 2 beds, and they gave us a regular room with 1 bed. We complained at the front desk and then they gave us a regular room with 2 beds. After we had settled in, they called us later in the evening to apologize and that they do have a suite with 2 beds. Mini fridge was not being restocked.

  The Gran Ventana Beach Resort was the best resort stay I have had in my travels. We arrived at noon but the room was not ready until 2pm. Normal check-in is 3pm keep in mind. The staff gave us access to the facilities as soon as we arrived, so we could have a nice lunch and hang at the beach until our room was ready. They have secure parking next to the main entrance, so no worries there. Once our room was ready, the concierge gathered our luggage and delivered it to our room. The room came with a nice comfortable king-sized bed, plasma TV with cable, and mini-bar refrigerator that was refilled daily. Our room was a short walk from the main square where the swimming pool, bars, entertainment area and restaurant. I enjoyed the nightly entertainment that began around 8pm and ended at 11pm. We arrived on a Friday so we were able to see the "Dominican Show" with ethnic dance and music ; and on Saturday they had a live tropical music group that played a variety of meringue, bachata, and salsa. The all-inclusive deal included delicious cocktails, a well prepared buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner; and select a la carte restaurants in the evening, that don't accept short pants as attire and of course access to the sun chairs and beautiful waters of one of the best beaches in Dominican Republic, Playa Dorada. I would definitely recommend a stay here if traveling to the Puerto Plata area. The only things missing were a casino and disco. However, if you are looking for a quiet resort stay, Gran Ventana is the place.

  Price was too expensive for what was offered. I have been to better resorts. During my stay I booked two rooms for my family and I. By that I mean I paid just as much as anyone else that stayed in the resort, if not more. After struggling over whether I should write this review (and after three weeks). As a friend told me "people don't take the time to write reviews and that's why things never change". I am taking my time to write this review because I was appalled at how staff treated those that weren't European. And now that I think of it, I understand why the reviews were so high, it was because the reviews were mostly written by European tourists. I am thrilled that they would take a vacation to such a beautiful land like the Dominican Republic. I was a little sadden about an incident where I had to ask a waiter about taking food out of the restaurant (which in hind sight was probably not a good idea to begin with). However, what appalled me about the incident was that when the waiter couldn't give me the answer, he asked the manager who's reply was "whose asking whether they can take food outside?" Waiter gestured and pointed to me (a descendant of Dominican natives...clearly someone that pretty much looked like them). The manager looked at me and said "no". Therefore, I am not appalled that I couldn't take food outside, I am appalled that he had to ask "whose asking". To me it shouldn't matter who asks because this implies that if the right person asks, then they will be allowed to take out food. Somewhat saddened about this experience in addition to this, they charge you for blinking. Clearly not for the food or drinks but all other little details that you might overlook because it says "all inclusive". They will offer to upgrade your room for a good price only to offer you the same room...lol. The Dominican Republic is a beautiful place to visit.

  The accommodations were nice. The food was good. Everything was clean. The staff was very helpful and responsive.

  The pillows were lumpy. But everything else was great.

  Overall stay was very good. It was a pleasant experience however, sometimes we would ask questions and receive conflicting answers with all that said I would still go back because it's still a good value.

  The staff the bad treatment and they only care about money it was bad from beginning and the water pool was cool the shows end early like at 11 , they don't have discotec and the cacino was close ,the view was poor,

  constant vendors on the beach, alcohol that was included in deal was awful, noise level at pool when some hotel activity was going on.
